Flipspaces Raises $50M from UAE, Singapore, Japan Investors for Global PropTech Expansion

Mumbai-based interior design startup Flipspaces has secured $50 million in Series C funding from a consortium of international investors, highlighting the global appeal of Indian PropTech solutions and the company's ambitious expansion strategy.

International Investment Consortium

The funding round was led by CE-Invests (UAE), Panthera Growth Partners (Singapore), and SMBC Asia Rising Fund (Japan), with continued participation from existing investors Iron Pillar, Synergy Capital Partners, and Prashasta Seth. The investment facilitated a complete exit for early-stage investor Carpe Diem.

This round was structured in three tranches: $35 million raised in May through primary and secondary capital, followed by ₹50 crore ($5.5 million) in June from Asiana Fund, and the final tranche completing the $50 million total.

Tech-Enabled Commercial Design Revolution

Founded in 2015 by Kunal Sharma, Ankur Muchhal, Vikash Anand, Mrinal Sharma, Prafful Sahu, and Ritesh Ranjan, Flipspaces operates as a full-stack commercial interior solutions provider using virtual reality and AI-powered technology.

The company's Vizstore platform provides space planning, virtual reality walkthroughs, furniture sourcing, and project management, targeting SMEs, startups, and co-working spaces. With operations across India, US, and UAE, Flipspaces has completed over 1,000 projects covering 8+ million square feet.

Global Expansion and Technology Investment

The fresh capital will fund geographic expansion across India, United States, and UAE markets while deepening supply chain integration and enhancing AI-led technology interventions. Strategic acquisitions in adjacent categories are also planned.

"Flipspaces' ability to scale profitably across India and the USA, while deploying AI and VR to transform a traditional sector, exemplifies the kind of opportunity we are committed to backing," said Ghada Abdelkader, Senior Vice President of CE-Invests.

Market Positioning and Competitive Landscape

The company targets technology, retail, healthcare, education, and financial services sectors, competing with traditional design firms and technology-driven players like Livspace and Space Matrix. Flipspaces differentiates through its integrated VR/AI technology suite and full-service delivery model.

CEO Kunal Sharma emphasized the global vision: "We are not just creating a company; we are establishing a technology-centric ecosystem that is transforming the future of interior design on a global scale".

Industry Growth and Market Opportunity

India's interior design and home furnishing market, valued at approximately $31 million, has attracted considerable investor interest. Recent comparable investments include WoodenStreet's $43 million Series C from Premji Invest and Warburg Pincus's majority stake in furniture hardware company Ebco.

The commercial interior design sector benefits from India's office space expansion and growing SME segment requiring professional design solutions. Flipspaces' technology approach addresses traditional sector inefficiencies and project delays.

Financial Performance and Growth Trajectory

While specific revenue figures weren't disclosed, the company is targeting ₹1,000 crore revenue by FY27 while maintaining profitability, according to recent management statements. The multi-geography expansion strategy positions Flipspaces to capture diverse market opportunities.

The international investor backing validates Flipspaces' export-ready business model and potential for scaling across developed markets like the US and emerging markets in the Middle East.

Strategic Implications for PropTech

This funding round represents broader trends in Indian PropTech globalization, where domestic companies leverage technology to compete internationally. The cross-border investment structure also demonstrates global investor confidence in Indian innovation capabilities.

Flipspaces' success could inspire other Indian real estate technology companies to pursue international expansion strategies and attract global capital for scaling operations beyond domestic markets.
